Welcome to the midcentury styled bedroom photo gallery. Here you can find the trends that influenced architecture and interior design in prosperous, post-war America.
Mid-Century attained its height of popularity in the mid-1950s into the early 1960s. Frank Lloyd Wright is commonly associated with popularizing this design movement. Today's mid-century design features a mix of this original design style with modernism.
Out of 582,301 bedrooms analyzed, 1.12% featured the midcentury design. It's a blend of a utopian '60s, complete with an array of delightful colors, and modern touches certainly make it an attractive style for any room in the home. However, there's no denying how beautiful this blend of times looks in the bedroom.

Mid-Century Bedroom Data
The furnishings of mid-century designs can be pulled straight from the past and mixed in with a few modern light fixtures or other appliances. However, choosing a working color scheme can be a challenge if you want to pull this look together. Consider the following data and design elements to help you make the most of this timeless style.
An Array of Color
The palette of the time featured two ends of its spectrum and a few "middle ground" colors. On one side there warm, earthy tones like olive green and pumpkin orange. On the other side are more trendy colors like pink, turquoise, and yellow.
Traditional colors such as burgundy, blue, and emerald green were also used. Combining all of these at once can create an overwhelming appearance. Most rooms in the '60s featured one end of the spectrum as their main color with a few complimenting colors from the other two sections, all of which paired with wooden furniture.
Out of 332,061 analyzed bedrooms, the predominant color in any bedroom was brown, having been used 38.11% of the time. However, the Midcentury room diversifies itself from the norm by incorporating a variety of colors and tones.
What About Flooring?
Vinyl, polished concrete, and wall to wall carpet were popular choices in the '60s. Today, only carpeting remains as popular. In an analysis of 165,175 rooms, we found that carpet was used 41.14% of the time.
